This is my second game to be released. It was released for the Low Quality Game Jam: Halloween Rematch!! With this project, I wanted to be a little more ambitious in both features and scope. This was partly due to not having the limitation of my first game being part of a One Button Jam. Having full range of controls allowed for more in depth gameplay. Some of the features that were included in this release.
- Start and Restart buttons with keyboard functionality
- Sound effects for jumps, candy collecting, and fall deaths
- Multiple levels with level restarts at death
- A more fleshed out character control scheme
- character acceleration and deceleration
- Level endpoints that only activate once all candy is collected
- the use of Godot's autoload feature for some scenes
- A splash screen
The creation of this game was a great learning experience. While making it, I developed some ideas for how to better improve this game.
- Add more levels (Consider this version to be of demo length)
- Develop enemies to avoid through the levels
- More high quality sound effects
- Animations for characters
- Better textures (being bad was kind of part of the jam)
- Options menues
Expect to see incremental additions to this game in the future.
